These swaps are so much fun! Tina Holden is our host and she is the best! I was always wondering about these swaps but was afraid to join . I didn't think I was good enough ,that my art work was par-standard, but I decided to jump right in ! The ladies were very welcoming and encouraged me along the way. My husband was also very supportive and helped me so much with my projects and always making sure I had everything I needed and even helped me when I got stuck and my muse went on a walk-about! In fact, this last swap he came up with the idea of making snowmen ornaments! These are my snowmen and my snowflake twenchie's. In case you're wondering what a to twenchi is well it's a 2" x 2" in canvas made entirely out of clay, clayers use them to trade and to express themselves artistically.

International Polymer Clay Swaps!

This is a polymer clay ornament and twenchi that I was given by my swap partner Laurel Stevens. We were in a swap I think it's the 7th one, for me since I've joined is my 3rd swap!

Giving Thank's

Wow ! The holidays just came in like a whirlwind! What the heck !? I got through a birthday and Halloween and Thanksgiving was a wonderful day of eating and watching holiday movies with my hubby!
I had a really nice time , my son also spent Thanksgiving with us and my step-daughter Kaylynn communicated with me! It's a long story but it really made my day!

So I am grateful for many things this year, for my wonderful husband who is so patient and understanding, for my son who I pray that his life will turn around for him pretty soon and he can start a new chapter. For my step daughter may she continue to find it in her heart every day to forgive me my past transgressions so we can be a family again once more. I miss you very , very much! So lord thank you for my family near and far, for my friends and I pray that they too find peace and happiness this holiday season!

Organically Pretty

This are made of polymer clay, vintage Czech glass and peanut seed beads. I was wanting to make something with a little more antique feel. The color of clay is done with mica powders, and the Czech glass has a smooth translucency with just a hint of green. I'm very pleased with the way they turned out. I think I'm going to experiment more with this and see where it leads me.
Have a great weekend and happy claying as always!!

Summer Time Delights

I have a neighbor who has a pretty little garden and I noticed this hibiscus bush. I had to snap a pic of this beautiful flower! I'm thinking something in polymer. What do you think?

Inspiration

These earrings were made because of one of my favorite artist Rebecca of Songbeads. She is an amazing jewelry artist from the UK. She also has an Etsy store where she sells alot of beautiful Czech glass beads where I have shopped as well. Thank you, Rebecca

Counting Our Blessing's

I don't have anything pretty to show you tonight , I don't have the latest news on craft glue's or pictures of cute kittens and butterfly's. What I do have to share tonight is my blessings and how grateful I am for what I have and the people in my life.
Isn't that what it's really about ? The people in Moore , Oklahoma are thinking the same things right now  too I'm sure  and a whole lot more. Tonight before I close my eyes and drift off to sleep I'm going to ask God to watch over all the people back east right now . And I am going to pray that they get the help they need in time. I'm not going to ask for anything for myself  I am going to ask God to protect them all back there and that everyone in the USA reaches out to all those back east who don't have a place to lay their heads and help those who need help right now. In Jesus ,name I pray , Amen and God Bless to All !

Finally It's Done !

I promised to be back after I had finished my suitcase and here it is! It's really tricky trying to get good pictures but I'll get there. It really turned out so sweet! Thank You Tim Holts and Ranger products couldn't have done it with out you !

Mother's Day!

I worked 86 hours in two weeks so I finished my altered vintage suitcase finally! Then about the middle of last week I got the idea to set up a small display at work to see if I could sell a few of my jewelry pieces.
Well needless to say It was a huge success! Thank You to all my tenants who support my work ! You know who you are! It really makes me feel humbled as I an still getting use to the idea of calling myself a polymer clay mixed media artist.
When I think of artist I think of Donna Kato, who by the way is my reason for loving polymer clay today. And Karen  Klew Lewis , Lori Anderson, just to name a few. Because there are hundred's of artist out there I so admire.
But here is what I made this week because of my love of polymer clay.
Happy Mother's Day Mom I love and miss you, Happy Mother's Day to my dear mother-n-law you are loved and missed so much and to all the wonderful females in my life and to all o f the woman out there in blogger land may you all have a wonderful, relaxing day wither it is spent with your loved ones or holding yourself up in your studio and doing the things we love to do rejoice in all your crazy female antic's and be proud this is your day !

Altered Vintage Suitcase

I know it's been a little bit since I've blogged but life gets in the way and I had a couple of projects I was involved with but I had to show this little beauty! I picked it up in an antique shop where I live for $1.00 ! I am going to post the after picture of what I did to it tomorrow. I tried to post last night but Blogger was having a fit and I was unable to post , or save  NOTHING ! I was so aggravated that I gave up . So I am hoping this goes well today !  I will tell you that I used Tim Holts Vagabond with his Tattered Flowers Die and some hand-made resin pieces that were suppose to be earrings ! I turned them into charms.
My sweet hubby gave me the idea! How cool is that !? Ok! so look for the new pic's tomorrow I still have a lot to learn about taking pictures and this blogging stuff is still very new to me but I'll get there!
Have a great week-end and make something !!

Well about 2 months ago I mentioned a vintage suitcase I had found at our local antique store . This is the before and I am going to post the after tomorrow. I completely altered this suitcase and I think it's way cool !
I was planning on using it to display my jewelry when I attended 1st Friday's and it turned out better then I expected! I can't wait to show you the after pictures. I used my Vagabond, by Tim Holtz and used his Tattered Flowers Die ,that's all I am going to say about that ,you're going to have to wait until tomorrow!

I know it's been a little bit since I've posted and I have really wanted to but life got in the way! I really need to make a stronger commitment to creating every day, but alas, I have a full time job and the house has to get clean right??

Anyways, I am really going to buckle down and fly right! Besides, I still have so much more to learn about blogging ! It's really so much fun !!

Happy Valentines Day To Me !!

I received the sweetest Valentine's surprise today after I got home from work today! My wonderful husband presented me with a brand new digital camera! So now all I have to do is learn how to take better pictures of my art jewelry and craft's !! WOW! So many new things to learn my brain is going on cellular degeneration ! But I am trying to remain calm and tell myself "YOU CAN DO THIS " Do not let your self-doubt spoil your journey! So while I quiet the voice's in my head I eagerly sit down to tell you a wonderful story of true love. No ,not mine another story close to my heart which I feel , is very appropriate for this romantic of holidays. There is a young Indian couple who own a smoke shop in the town where I live. Four months ago the husband took their then 10 month old daughter  with him and flew back to India to visit their parents and introduce their beautiful child to their families. Well when the visit was over and it was time for them to return home ,he could not  seems his paper work /passport visa had expired!! I befriended the young woman and tryed to give her words of encouragement and visited her as often as I could . She was pretty much alone during the holiday's , and didn't have alot of friends, she lost alot of weight and looked like she had just finished crying every time I visited her store. Well ....as it turns out she just came back from India and her husband and child will return home next week !!!!!

I am thrilled for her and her small family my heart just filled with joy and love for them to see her face all lit up at the mention of her husband and daughter brought tears to my eye's so tonight before I left her shop she reaches behind her and hands me a small white bear holding a big red heart that's stamped with the word LOVE. I tell you it was such a simple act but it made me feel ten feet tall! How one act of kindness brought about a new found friendship and understanding as a wife and mother I could reach out to her and offer her strength and comfort in a time in this young woman's life when she truly needed a friend. I can hardly wait for them all to be together as a family again. I hope everyone's Valentine's Day turned out to be as full of love and surprizes' as mine did !!!

Digital Camera !

I have got to find my digital camera ! We moved back in September so things are still a bit unorganized, so I wasn't surprised by my lack of clarity of the pics I took last night. It did help me learn from my mistake's as this is a brand new journey for me ,one I never thought I would ever start, so I am not measured by failures but by how many attempts it took me to achieve my goal's.I was held back by my own voice and  now that I am free , HERE I am !!
Growth, is my word for 2013 there were a lot of personal things going on in my life in 2012 and I wanted to grow in my personal space and with my art.And I finally feel I am headed in the right direction! But for today I am on the hunt for my camera!! Enjoy your day !

Valentine's Day !

I am a true romantic at heart . Valentine's Day is hand's down my favorite holiday of the year! And the joy of creating heart shaped art is so much fun! I just finished making my little Altered Match Boxes. I found the article in a Somerset Life, magazine if you have never heard of this magazine before you may of heard of Belle Amore Jewlery Magazine. They are both wonderful to look at with so much inspiration and ideas'! And that's how I came about the little altered match boxes,Youtube had alot of video's about altered match boxes and swaps but since I am new to all this blogging business I thought I would start out small... Will post new pic's soon of my little match boxe's of art..
